- Brix to Potential Alcohol — you are following a WINEMAKING recipe or reading a Brix chart. It multiplies °Brix by 0.55–0.59, which reads HIGHER than this page for the same juice. Neither is wrong: this page uses the cidermaking convention for “what will this cider come out at”, that one answers “how much alcohol is the sugar in this must worth”.
