Gravity Temperature Correction (Estimate)
A hydrometer only reads true at the temperature it was calibrated to. Correct a specific-gravity reading taken warm — or cold — back to that temperature. An estimate, not an official measurement.

Non-regulatory estimateEnter the gravity your hydrometer showed and the temperature of the sample to see what it would have read at the hydrometer’s calibration temperature.
⚠️ This is a reference estimate for brewing, cider making and winemaking — not an official measurement, and never valid for a tax or label filing.
Etched on the hydrometer’s stem — most US ones say 60 °F.
Enter a hydrometer reading and the sample’s temperature to see the corrected gravity.
Estimate only — the standard hydrometer temperature-adjustment convention (Michael Hall, Zymurgy, Summer 1995; a curve fit to CRC Handbook water-density data), not an official measurement. It assumes a GLASS HYDROMETER: a refractometer measures refractive index rather than density and needs a different correction entirely.
